How many of us could have the strength to do what you did? You kept playing, day after day, knowing that they owed you your money back. You knew sooner or later they would pay you off and they did.
That's the depressing part about playing especially through a losing streak. You go back thinking "Now it's my turn, I'm owed a good run" and then you realize- no you're not. The chances of it happening again are just the same as it happening the last time. Same for the next time.
"Professional counters have the intestinal fortitude of teflon.
I`m still not altogether convinced this is a good thing ... "
Not for a shoe player it's not! It's hard enough to hold your urine at the table throughout those good counts. I'd hate to see what would happen if my large intestine was made of Teflon(*). Negative flux, for sure.
(*) Teflon is a trademark of E.I. Dupont de Nemours Inc., and is not recommended as a colon substitute.
It sounds as though you're saying that each short session is an independent process like a dice roll or a roulette spin. The idea of the long run is that each session of advantage play is a dependent process--what happens now matters to what happens later. Mayor, where's your mythology meter?
I was pretty tired last night...I just remembered I dug out by a whoping 50 bucks or so last month only to start back on a 30K losing streak the next day...Sorry SM
From reading his books it sounds like he has changed systems many times during his career...I just think the UBZ is one of the best mixes of simplicity and power I highly recomend it and if I was starting over it is the count I would learn...SM
