First trip to Las Vegas

Hello everyone,

I am making my first trip to Las Vegas next week. I have a couple of questions. I know basic strategy extremely well. I also know the hi-low count and can do it with about 95+% accuracy. I also just learned the omega 2 count, but am not as good at that yet having never done it in a casino where the hi-low count I have. My trip will be a week long and I will be staying at the golden nugget. My first question is where would be the better places to play blackjack in Las Vegas. My second question would be whether I should use the hi-low count with high efficiency, or should I use the omega 2 count instead? My bankroll should be between 750-1000 for the trip. What type of bet spread should I use? I was thinking of using a 10-20 spread on a single deck or 5-20(or 25) spread on a double deck. Also what type of comps would I expect using these spreads. My hope is to get a free room and air fare for a future trip, is this reasonable for these low of bets and if not what type of bet spread would I need to use to get this type of comp. I also picked up American Casino Guild for the coupons they have for blackjack and buffets, is there any other promotions or coupons I should know about that I could take advantage of? Also, do you know if any of the casinos there have good birthday month promotions (June is my birthday) that I can take advantage of? Again thanks for all the good info,

Justin

Will you have a car? If so you will have access to many more games than if you are stuck downtown the whole time.

Stick with Hi-Low. It’s better to play accurate and quicker.

A $10-$20 spread isn’t going to earn anything. I would suggest a $5-$30 spread for both SD and DD games to make things easy for you to switch back and fourth.

You might be able to get a meal or two downtown but not much else. Maybe a few cheap room rates will come in the mail later if you use a player’s card. The free rooms usually require some green chip action ($25 per hand) and the airfare is pretty tough to get unless you play with black chips ($100) for a while each day.
