For those who wish to understand probability a bit better...

I, myself, have trouble spelling probability, let alone fullly understanding it so I bought myself a course on it.
The Teaching Company offers a series of DVDs called The Great Courses.
One course is called "What are the chances? Probability Made Clear"' and is taught by a professor from the University of Texas. It's 12 thirty minute lectures and is very easy to follow.
It's normally $199 but I was able to pick it up for $15 thru a special advertisment in last weeks Time Magazine.
One of the lectures is entitled "Expected Value-You can bet on it".
It also covers Bayesian Probability Theory- something I've heard of but never got.
I've finished the first two lectures and am highly impressed with the course so far.The companies website is http://www.teach12.com
There is no special code in the ad. I just told the operator I'd seen the ad and she asked me what the price was and gave me the $190 discount.

thanks Shad, i just ordered it online, total cost that way ended up $30, but still a good discount.

I bought this about a year or so ago. It wasn't anything i hadn't come across before, but it was a nice refresher course. Well worth the money, although the $199 price is a load of bull. I've never seen them selling any of the courses at the supposed full price.

I'm sure thats true, but thinking you are getting something at 90%off is a great incentive.
