Found a 2:1 blackjack casino

It's only during LATE non prime time hours. 6 deck, hit S17 (not sure on other rules, never been there, friend just told me about it)

I checked wizard of odds, and it says that 2:1 blackjack is worth 2.27%http://wizardofodds.com/blackjack/ (sorry, don't know if I should cite my sources or not, if it's inappropriate mods please delete for me, I have no affiliation with that site)

Now the casino only pays the blackjack 2:1 on bets up to $10....

my question: if I played basic strategy only, that would make the game beatable right? Also, what kind of winrate could I expect...assuming $10 bets only.

1.5% (guesstimate) x 100 hands per hour (game is dead when promo is running cause it's late at night) x $10 per bet = $15 per hour

am I right? or did I screw up the math somehow?

Sounds like a positive expectation game to me!

But you know what they say - if it sounds too good to be true.............

You sure it's not SUITED BJ's?

That was actually my first question too ;)

He said, "no any blackjack" but I'm still skeptical (he was drinking)

I think I'll go check it out though, worst case scenario I just count ;)

Your math looks ok, but the actual time-motion value to someone with your BR and skills is not worthwhile. zg

Playing even 100 hands an hour, you are talking about a $10 difference between a 3/2 game and a 2-1 game. Its okay for a small timer, but I thought you had a $100,000 BR to work with? And why would a card counter want to play any game using only BS?

Assuming you can play 100 hands/hr you would make $16.50/hr just betting $10 flat. This is a great game for a small time counter using even a small spread of 1-5 or 1-10 because hitting two blackjacks an hour would add $10 an hour to his game.

sorry, I guess everyone didn't get my post in the other section.

I wasn't trying to be like ZOMG look at me, I'm the SECK. I was just curious what I "could possibly aspire to" given my situation.

BJ is a hobby/fun way to make money for me, not a ZOMG I NEED TO MAKE THE MAX AMOUNT POSSIBLE!!!! people ask me all the time, why would I waste my time teaching poker for $25 a hour when I could play for $200+...well, it's a break, AND IT'S FUN, and $25 a hour is still GOOD money to someone who dropped out of college ;)

I just thought it'd be fun to drink $1 pitchers with a buddy, play basic strategy, have the fiance play also, play 2 hands at once, and make like $30 a hour....nothing like getting hammered for cheap and getting paid to do it ;)

Right you are. Go have a good time and make a little extra money.

The last time I played a 2:1 promotion, it was good for bets up to $100, and it lasted about twelve hours with me playing two spots (and several other players doing the same).

A more recent opportunity featured bets of up to $5000, but I arrived at the casino only a few hours before it began, and there were no seats to be had (or bought) by that time.

These are great profit opportunities, and even at $10, you'll have a good time. It's fun to be able to turn off the brain, have a few free beers, and still make money.

I remember when that happened. What a wild scene! How long was it before they closed the tables? They must have been absolutely creamed :) !

Actually, the casino in that case actually did run the thing for 24 hours, though at the end there was only one table of it, and the max bet had been reduced to $300 or $400 if I recall correctly. Word on the street was that they lost over a million bucks that day. Needless to say, when the next Fathers Day rolled around, there was no Fathers Day bonanza repeat.

Jupiters casino in Australia had 2:1 blackjack on tuesday morning, 9am - 11am. Needless to say it lasted 2 weeks. Similair thing happened when they reduce their minimum bet from $10 to $5. Basically doubled what you could make as a card counter who wasn't wonging.
