From backoffs to tournament invites.

A few months ago I was backed off from an off strip property. But then today in the mail I recieved an invite for a Bj. tournament along with three free nights. To me this seems like an invite to return and play again.

I've been thinking about possible scenarios of what would happen if I took them up on the offer.

1) I'm assuming that I could play the tourney, but not regular Bj. But what would happen if you sit down to play some Bj. and right away you get the tap. Would you have an argument for false or misleading advertising? What about calling Gaming? Maybe a lawsuit?

2) Take them up on the offer and nothing happens at all and I'm allowed to play unhindered. I don't think this would happen though.

Just looking for some thoughts on this. Probably not going to use the offer because of the time frame but it just made me get to thinking about it.

I Agree 100%

If you look at the invite it probably says "we reserve the right to rescind the offer at any time". So legally they can probably deny you any offer at any time.

Agreed. The marketing team is usually disconnected from the pit/eye. Take them up on the offer and play BJ elsewhere until you check out (or dress/look different). You'll indeed be backed off the instant you show them your player's card.

Even if somehow they let you play in a tourney without I.D., they would not pay you, should you cash, if you are on their exclusion list.

Were you backed off from just blackjack or 86'ed?

Perhaps they had a list of all the backed off blackjack players, and they figure that the players they backed off would be great in the tournament.
