I have put a clip from this wonderful film on my web page for my comrades here on bjinfo.com:

For those that don't know, this was an award-winning brilliantly crafted (fact-based) portrait of a degenerate gambler who pulled off the biggest bank fraud in Canadian History to feed his habit. Oscar winning performance by Philip Seymour Hoffmann. I actually know the host who was the guilty party in this madness, as she aided and abetted Mahony in dragging tens of millions in ill-gotten gain (mostly) to Caesars in A.C. She perjured herself before a Federal Grand Jury to save Caesars from felony convictions. (That is in neither the movie nor the book. The book is entitled "STING" by Gary Ross and was published in Canada in 1987.

Psychologist: How would you rate the thrill you got from gambling, on a scale of one to 100?
Dan Mahowny: Um... hundred.
Psychologist: And what about the biggest thrill you've ever had outside of gambling?
Dan Mahowny: Twenty.
[when asked why he'd never been to Niagra Falls]
Dan Mahowny: I don't want to use up all of Canada too soon.
Investigator #1: You've got a gambling problem, right?
Dan Mahowny: No...
[chuckles]
Dan Mahowny: No, sir.
Investigator #1: Come on. You didn't get a buzz out of it?
Dan Mahowny: I have a... financial problem. A shortfall.
Dan Mahowny: How much for the bags?
Car Rental Girl: They're free for customers.
Dan Mahowny: Great, can I have one?
Car Rental Girl: Well, you're not a customer, so...
Dan Mahowny: Okay... how much for the bags?
