hi there, is it worth putting in the extra effort to learn the hi-lo count with truecount conversion for shoe games or should i just stick to my red 7 and KO counts am in the middle of learning?

The more i read books and the more i learn on this site, the more excited i get about learning to count, i have loads of spare time at work to learn to count(approx 3hours a day),not to mention time when am not working!!! so am floating with the idea of trying to learn a more powerful counting system, the hi-lo count sounds very good, is there any other counts that i should maybe be aware of? and do they match up to the hi-lo count, am not wanting go beyond a single point count(yet), any advice would be helpful.

Ive been learning the KO count and have took to it like a duck to water, the red7 count is very similer, are these unbalanced counts really as powerfull as the counts with truecount/trueedge conversions???

Any help would be great, am itching to hit the tables although i know theres alot of frustration and practice ahead, but to get one up on the casinos in the long run is my motivation.

Thank you

There are plenty of other systems out there. Many of them are slightly more powerful than KO or Red 7, but don't worry about them yet. My advice is to continue with KO/Red 7 and get some casino experience first, then think about switching systems. Switching systems will not increase yout profit by much, and there are much more important factors that directly affect your results (proper bet sizing, bankroll management, speed of play, strategy adjustments, etc.). You've got to learn to walk before you can run. :)

hi sonny, thank you for your reply, that is very helpful info, ive got about a dozen decks of cards spread out in my jackets, at my bedside table, in my car, at my work, in my golf bag(rounds can be painfully slow here) and various other places, let the practice begin, will be posting more questions over yhe coming weeks/months to gather as much info as possible. this site is very helpful.
thanks again.

Yes. You're talking about shoe games now, and the most important skill in shoe is getting in and out of the shoe at the right time. This is a lot easier to do with true counting. It can be done with running count systems like KO and Red 7, but you end up having to do deck estimation anyway. You're also going to be switiching between 6D and 8D games a lot, and when you use a true count system you play 4-8 deck games exactly the same.
