Gifts for pitbosses?

Pitbosses have the most thankless job in the casino, they usually want you to lose because they don't get tipped and are held responsible if the casino loses. I believe that getting them a gift and going up to them saying that I'm thinking about you can help to lighten there mood and allow you to play longer. Plus pitbosses usually have the power to give you comps a gift for them might mean more generous comps in the future. What kind of gift do you think is appropiate?

When the pitboss gives me two comps for the steakhouse,I'll bring him back a nice dessert.
Or if the pitboss offers me tickets to a show I don't want,I'll give them to the PB at another casino.
Or something along those lines.

Silk ties are always good. Otherwise I give the ones I like some of my comps. zg

The casinos I play do not allow the pit critters to accept tips. Wonder if other valuables are included in that list of forbidden items?
Most allow non-cash gifts.
A great way to get rid of a PB is to ask his advice on a hand. If you take it and win, insist on hi-fiving him. Then try to tip him. This usually results in him avoiding your table.Unless you are seated with Jessica Alba.

A little gift goes a long way!

I think that bringing the pit bosses gifts will defininty increase your welcome at the casino especially if they like the gift. It doesn't have to be an expensive gift either a got some chocolate covered macodemia nuts they tasted pretty good and where reasonably priced! After giving them to the pit boss the pit boss was a lot more crodule to me.
If you want to keep playing in your favorite casino having a good attitude is essential if you have a bad attitude you are likely to get kicked out even if you are losing player!

Why not donate your winnings to their kids college fund, or pay for a shoe shine. Maybe that BMW they been eying on the way to work. They will turn on you in a second. They deserve nothing.

Would a Nice Cigar Work...

as a gift to a PB? I always have a couple decent cigars with me.
A dessert from the coffee shop sounds good, too.

Although I doubt any generosity will buy much favor with a PB.

It has value but it is not insurance

Over the years there have been pits that I have given gifts. Knowing their hobby or interest or just a gift card, to pits that I liked or knew outside of the casino.
There is definate value to this in places where you are a regular and as a general rule, these pits would be less likely to take action against you. But it will not insure you against a possible backoff. The decision to evaluate your play does not have to come from the pit and the decision to back you off most often comes from the shift manager or above. Finally, gifting the eye is something we can not do generally and is something the casino will not allow.

The pit makes decesions!

On comps as well as back offs so a few gifts to the pit might get you better comps as well as buy you time. Giving a gift to the shift manager on duty is not a bad idea either. The shift manager has more power than the pit boss. But the pit boss still has the power to back you off. The shift manager and the pit boss might discuss a back of for a awhile before pulling the triger on a possible back off. But boss who like the people that are playing there might want to delay a possible back off and credit your good fortunate to lady luck rather than skill. Lady luck is something the house can over come skill is something they can't overcome. So they will kick you out.

Hidden agenda?

Giving gifts to a pit boss? It sounds like CardCounter is expecting a promotion sometime soon.
