Great Day

Just had a great day and want to relate it.

Sat down in the high limit room (which is only $10, go figure) because there was no one there. I like playing one-on-one.

Bought in for 20 units, played through 2 shoes, only lost 2 hands the entire time and walked out 25 units ahead. For only about 20 min work. Wish it was that easy every time.

Hardly noteworthy; although it prods me to ask:

How did you manage to win so little if you played through two (2) shoes winning all but 2 hands ?

Two deck shoe (poor pen), count was never high enough to increase bet or vary play.

I just happened to win every hand but two, level betting.

Nice fluctuation

I had the same about 4 days ago playing a six decker. The count was rubbish but still ended up winning 14 bets in a row(minimum bet). Makes up for some of those negative fluctuations.

Yes, it's a great lesson that variance goes both ways. Great count and losing hands/lousy count and winning hands.

Statistically, the player always has a disadvantage at minus counts. If anyone could beat the game at minus counts, one would not need spreading. Just my opinion.

Why were you willingly playing under poor conditions?

Yes, same answer as 21gun. I was winning every hand even though the count was neg most of the time. Tens kept comming out and they were mostly in my hand. I had 19, 20 dealt most every hand.

Don't judge your session by your win/loss, judge it by the quality of your play.

If you played a significant number of hands in a hugely negative situation, then your quality of play wasn't that great. Focus on how to improve that, not how variance blessed you.
