just got back from another long few days of play in AC, and as always, have returned with some great quotes heard round the tables.
while playing at the borgata i heard a dealer respond to the question, "why does the borgata have only 6 decks while the other casinos have 8?". to which the dealer responded, "we have 6 decks here, but only 6 spots for players. the other casinos have 8 decks but 7 spots for players to play, so this evens things out and the house advantage/probability of winning stays the same and thus it doesnt matter where you play." i had to contain my laughter at this one.
or how about the little old superstitious asian ladies at the tables? i had one of these pay me $25 bucks to let her play one of my spots (i was playing 3 anyway) after i wonged in to three spots in a high positive count and won about 3 hands in a row at max bets. i was told "i see that spot is very lucky. i need to play it now. please, i will pay you to let me play it." boom, free EV (no opportunity cost lost, as there was another spot to my left since the table was basically empty at 10am) :cool2: .
the list goes on, but im too tired tired to write em all down. suffice it to say, these types of quotes/occurrences keep me playing as much as the money aspect. just too much fun, dont you agree?
