Has anybody noticed that most dealers put the cut card a little bit deeper and deal out a few more hands per deck if they have to hand shuffle rather than put the cards through a shuffle machine? Dealers are lazy and like to get as much out of a deck before having to reshuffle.

I voted no difference in the poll, reason being, no dealer in my opinion likes to shuffle ( other then dealers who can count and like to be especially mean and shuffle whenever positive counts come about) as it wastes playing time, which for them is where they make the majority of there pay from tips. If A dealer is shuffling 20 mins out of an hour he is losing out on 20 minute of possible tips. Multiply this by however many dealers per night and it adds up.

I couldn't vote because there is a marked difference in the two at least as far as shoes are concerned. If you shuffle by hand the decks are fluffed and appear thicker than if machine shuffled. It's not much of a difference but there is a difference because of wear and tear so to speak. The shuffling action may cause the dealer to be a little tired so to speak and not pay attention after which may vary the cut card but that is about the crux of it.

I voted yes, its deeper, but only sometimes. It more consistant because majory of the time I've seen an ASM its usually accompanied by a notch in the shoe, and I've noticed that it has varied from casino to casino. Thats just what I've seen so far at only a few casinos.
