Harrah's Platinum Card

Hey folks, I have lurked here for a while but never really posted... I am BJ player, I don't count and have never tried, but I play basic strategy and do well enough. I was upgraded to a Harrah's "Platinum" Card this year, but I don't really know what the benefits are over a Gold... do any other players here have this card and if so, what are the benefits or privileges?

There are no benefits to playing at Harrah's.

Platinum members get shorter lines for buffets, cashiers and check-in. They also get special invites to a couple of slot tournaments each year. There are a couple other benefits, most of which only apply to slot players.

There are very few benefits to Platinum over Gold. Most benefits kick in at Diamond. They vary by property. Go to harrahs.com and it will list all the details.

Yeah, there's very little more for platinum. Usually you have to be diamond to line-jump or go to the lounge.

In AC and Vegas, I've had little problem using the shorter lines with Platinum cards I've found in the slot areas.

Hmm... I don't recall ever seeing it. Maybe I'm not remembering AC correctly, but I don't recall any line-jumping for platinums. I'll look more closely next time, I guess. I don't think Tunica or any Midwest places allow line-jumping for platinum.

Back before they introduced their H17 games, I was a Platinum member. You basically get more free room offers including Vegas, better promos, and you can sometimes use it to get ahead in line but that's about it. Would I ever play at any Harrah's property now to get those benefits, heck no.

I have had the worst time making platinum playing table games. Honestly, I've probably logged 100 hours at harrah's in the last year playing green chips, and I've barely gotten platinum. I don't know how you do it. I almost got diamond one time hitting a video poker promo, but that's it.

A lot depends on the pitboss. They have the ability to give a lot of points, or very few. My friend who was a boxman at craps before moving up to be an exec says that most give more points if they percieve you as a long term loser, and less if they think you are a skilled player.
