The guy plays Mini Baccarat. He bets Every Hand S$70,000 Banker and S$5,000 on each sides of Pairs. All table Maximum. US$1= S$1.50.

According to my calculation he would lose Every Round $700 ,1% on Banker's Bet and $1,000 on Pairs , 10% HA. Total $1,700. Since he was playing alone the speed of play I estimate to about 150 rounds the hour. I have played and timed some of these Baccarat games before. So assuming he plays the usual 4 hours that will be total 600 rounds. Multiplying this out the casino would have earn a commission of $1,020,000. Let us call it $1M. Now he may be lucky or unlucky and win or lose $1/2M, $2M , $5M.....

But all I know is that it is guys like him that enable the casino to give me a free cruise on the ship. Thank You whoever you are.

Saw an older Oriental gal on TV once playing Baccarat and her average bet was $250k. It was a show about high-rollers and whales. Everytime she placed a bet I would say "that's a house"!

I've think I've seen 6-figure bets, and perhaps 7-figure bets at baccarat at the Bellagio.

I noticed there was a $1,000 minimum table with these three people betting red, green and black chips. I thought maybe the chip colors started repeated at high denominations, but upon closer inspection, they were roulette chips. There were two floor managers who were busy writing every single hand down, and the dealer had to get an okay from them before she dealt every hand.

Obviously, red was not $5. I did figure out that 5 reds = 1 green and 4 greens = 1 black, based on exchanges they made. The highest bet I saw was 3 black chips.

At one point, someone was down to 1 black chip, and asked for lower denomination chips. Interestingly, the chips were not changed, but the dealer switched out a little marker (that I had never noticed before) on top of the player number, and changed his 1 black chip for 8 blacks and 8 greens.

I wasn't close enough to see exactly what the marker said, but I'm pretty sure two of the players had markers with 5 digits and the one guy switched his marker from 5 digits to 4. This was consistent with the exchange rate.

I still don't know exactly what the marker means, but here are my two hypotheses:

(a) If the marker represents the total value of a stack of chips (as I've seen with similar observations at a high limit roulette table when someone bought in for $10,000 and got 100 chips with a "2,000" marker put on the wheel), then they were at least betting up to $150,000 per hand (black = 10,000 / 20 * $100) and maybe $300,000 per hand if the marker read 20,000 instead of 10,000.

(b) If the marker represents a multiplier by which the traditional chip color is multiplied (black = 10,000 x $100), it means that these people were betting at least up to $3,000,000 per hand, and maybe even $6,000,000 per hand.

Either way, that was easily the most money I've seen thrown around at a casino.

Unless you mean theres a Bellagio in Monte Carlo where they have no table limits, I seriously doubt the casino would allow bets of $6,000,000 a hand.

Casinos want to have tens of thousands of units to lose so they can ride out variance at a minimum. The casino owner at Crystal Bay club is worth hundreds of millions and won't take blackjack bets over $200 because he doesn't want wins and losses to effect him fincially. At that level know amount of bad luck could bankrupt his casino. When you take $6,000,000 bets you could go bankrupt with a run of bad luck.

That kind of reminds me of a roulette player I saw once in AC who was betting the SAME amount on 1st 12, 2nd 12 and 3th 12...and making NO other bets!:laugh::laugh:
