I have a blackjack book and bought the basic strategy card from some store in Vegas. While the majority of the stategy is the same, there are some differences:

22,33: Book says split on dealers 4-7 Cards
Card says split on dealers 2-7 Cards

44: Book says don't split
Card says split on 5-6

66: Book says split on 3-6
Card says split on 2-6

Ummm.... which one is right or which one should I learn?

Thanks

I find it strange

I find it strange that someone would write a book based upon a game where you can not double after splitting today. Are you sure that there is not a second part (or third and fourth) to the charts in the book that cover differences in fairly common casino rules.

Actually, after recently looking at blackjack books at a Borders, I do not find it that strange at all, most seem to be written by people who perhaps write and do not play. Who is the author?

The books of yesteryear

Why's that? There's plenty of DD with no DAS, and DAS is rare in SD.
Sure, I agree there is DD and SD, but the vast majority of tables in the world are shoes today, so why would an author ignore them, and shoe games with no DAS, unless they offer some exceptional rule, should be avoided and are rare.
It is also why authors who know the game today and write a book will create a chart with both DAS and no DAS, and also have perhaps a separate basic strategy for single and multiple decks.

Anyway, my whole point is that either the book is worthless, the poster might have missed a section for DAS, or it might be a book from an earlier time period.
