High Tie BJ

Think ink ran when the paper I wrote this down on got wet so I am doing some of these payoffs from memory, but at my home casino there is now a High Tie sidebet. It seems moderately beatable, but I'm wondering at what count would it become truly profitable.

Pair pays 3-1
Blackjack pays 6-1
Suited Pair 10-1
Suited blackjack 20-1
High Tie Blackjack 50-1 (both push with blackjacks)

The standard paytable for that sidebet in a shoe game has suited blackjacks paying 15-1 .... not 20-1. A 20-1 payout results in a house edge of only .5% ... unheard of for sidebets. At 15-1, the sidebet has a house edge of over 6%.

If the bet did pay 20-1 for suited BJ, then you could earn 2.5 units/100 by just wagering on the side bet at TC +1 and higher.

On the standard 50-15-10-6-3 payout, you can earn .86/100 betting at TC +3 and higher.

Some side bets are awesome.

I remember once when they had royal perfect pairs. Instead of just betting the hand to be a pair, you would bet it to be a pair of Jacks/Queens/Kings/Aces and the payouts were about 5% house edge at TC=0. WHen the count went up the player advantage could get insane.
