Hit 12 on 6?

Hiya folks. I've been slowly incorporating the Illustrious 18 into my play, and have found a profound effect on my play now that I have memorized them all. Not to mention the bonus of the lame crew thinking I'm a ploppy.

However, I keep second guessing one of the I18. You can guess which one, by the title of this thread. The index says to hit a 12 on 6 at a TC of -1. Of course I trust Don's math but this one seems to me the hardest to actually want to do at the casino. This one doesn't just puzzle the crew, it also pisses off some players. Do any of you guys actually use this index in the casino?

With a negative TC I would most definitely hit. People will certainly be pissed when you get the 9 and the dealer gets a 4.

The more people you piss off, the less players that will play at your table!

Another good table clearing play is to split tens.

heh, heh i used it this evening, well not acutally 12v6 it was 12v4 . i loved doing it and the looks on the faces of the players and dealer, infact the dealer almost turned her hole card over instead of giving me a card. well i busted. but so did the dealer and the table then loved me.

best regards,

Well, according to the I18 and many articles I have read, the 12v4 has an index of 0 and the BS of stand is of negligible difference to hitting. So I've never had a problem hitting it. But the 6 draws much more attention, on the rare occasion that I have done it.

The 12 vs. 6 index for my system is -5 so I'm usually gone by then anyway! If I am still around (if it's close to the shuffle anyway) I'll go ahead and use it. Anything that saves you money during negative counts is too big of a benefit to ignore. It also helps you look more like a hunch player if you toss in some good ploppy dialogue.

according to Wong in Professional Blackjack stand on 12v4 at zero or above and hit if less than zero. pages 46 & 48 there are notes on it see (number) . at least thats how i read it. wouldn't doubt if the differance is negligible though. yeah i'll bet the six does draw a lot more attention

Never worry if your plays piss off others at the table. You are not there to make friends, you are in the casino to make money. Do what's best for you.

KO doesn't list an index for hitting 12 against 5 and 6 on multideck shoes. It does list one for single and double deck though.

DD hit 5 at -2 and hit 6 at -1.
SD hit 5 at +1 and hit 6 at +2.

These are from the "full" matrix, not the "preferred" matrix.

I definately don't care about others, especially ploppies (the only type of player at my casino) with one exception. The sexy ladies who I would rather have at my table. :) But they tend to ignore my play anyways because they are distracted by the godly figure of man meat that I am:rolleyes:
