Hole card vs no hole card?

How does ENHC vs US affect the game. Is the difference in strategy or playability?

it both hurts the odds and it affects strategy with regards to splitting and doubling (you do it less without a hole card).

The basic strategy engine has strategies for either contingency.

I found the Strategy engine and plugged in the conditions. There is very little difference with the exception (as you noted) of some splits and doubles (against dealers 10's and aces.) The differences are not that big. They don't help you win any more as much as they keep you from losing more by not putting more out when you don't double or split. Sort of like you don't want to put more money out when you don't know what the dealer has when he shows a 10 or an ace. In a normal game you put more money out because he has already peeked, and you know he does not have BJ for example!!

Keep in mind that most places these days are not really 'no hole card' they have rules called 'original bets only' are lost to Blackjack.

In australia all the games are no hole card but we do not loose splits or doubles if the dealer ends up with a blackjack.

It seems odd to me that casinos would do it this way. They are losing money during the time it takes to play out hands, and they are using up cards faster meaning more reshuffles (again wasted time). If the dealer had a hole card he could just check for blackjack right away, take up the players' bets if he has it, and move on to the next round.

It seems odd to me that casinos would do it this way. They are losing money during the time it takes to play out hands, and they are using up cards faster meaning more reshuffles (again wasted time). If the dealer had a hole card he could just check for blackjack right away, take up the players' bets if he has it, and move on to the next round.

It is the fear of the player who can catch the dealers hole card and it is the fear that perhaps their dealers are not that well trained or honest. So that problem is eliminated by the dealer taking no hole card and the result is exactly as you said, the casino makes less money. There are tons of examples where casinos are willing to win less in order to stop a very small percentage of players from winning.

Guess u are right. One of the cruise casino I went to, the dealer like to peek-a-boo at the burn card for whatever reason I don't know lolx. I am sitting at the 2nd place and can see all the burn card.

I could write a book about all the instances where either casino paranoia or casino greed lands up costing them money. It is not every casino all the time but every casino is susceptible and moreso today. Today, many of the decisions in this area are made by people who have none or little experience in the way of gaming.
