The house edge on the royal match bet on the first two with a pay schedule of 3 to 1 for easy match two suited cards and 10 to 1 for royal match king and queen suited is 3 to 4 percent. However if you already have an easy match and bet on the 3rd card being matched too your first two cards suit the house edge is a whopping 34% if you are playing single deck blackjack and take only your first two cards into consideration. I see ploppies bet on getting the third card all the time. You could offer one of these ploppies 4 to 1 that they won't get a third card of the same suit and have a 12% percent advantage on the bet. It is a win win for both people the player gets better odds than usuall and you get a 12% advantage.

why is the second royal match 34%? is it because you can't get a royal? it's a 3:1 payout on a 1 in 4 bet, does that add up to 34%....

someone crunch the numbers for me so i can see.

The 3rd card is a good deal for a player who is counting suits too. But you don't take the 3rd card bet very often so it doesn't add very much to your EV.

I made a miscaculation on the house edge on third card it is 12% not 34%. Here is how I caculated the house edge on third card. Since the first two cards are you are now playing with a 50 card deck 11 of which give you winner. 11/50= 22% plus 66% equals 88%-100%=12% house edge. I forgot to add in the 22% that you keep when you win. If you offered 4 to 1 odds on the third card you would be the sucker. You would give the player a 10% advantage on his money 22%+88%=110%.
