How do you keep track of your wins & losses? Excel, Casino Verite, etc.?

Currently, I’m using an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of the wins & losses.
It’s effective, but I wonder if there’s a “better” way.
I have CV Blackjack v5 which comes with CVJournal, but I don’t like it.
By default, the last log is appended at the bottom of the list regardless of the date.
If you want to sort them by date, then you must click the date button.
The cumulative winnings are calculated by the order of entry, not by the date.
Also, when you sort by date, the cumulative winnings aren’t recalculated,
so the displayed cumulative winnings don’t make sense.
After you add a custom field, such as the day of the week, you can’t rearrange
the order of the field columns.
How are you guys keeping track of things?
Has anyone tried Quickbooks or something similar?
Has anyone programmed Excel to do what you want?
Which method do you prefer?

I use a custom made excel sheet for my records. But honestly, I cant imagine keeping records with pen and paper, when excel offers so much.

I use excel too. I believe careful record keeping is very important in card counting projects/careers.

I posted up a copy of a results spreadsheet some time ago - I ended up adding a few more columns at a later stage - but you can have a look at it anyways.

I use pen and paper, or more specifically a Small Black Moleskine journal to keep track of everything.
