How do you keep track of your wins & losses? Excel, Casino Verite, etc.?

Currently, I’m using an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of the wins & losses.
It’s effective, but I wonder if there’s a “better” way.
I have CV Blackjack v5 which comes with CVJournal, but I don’t like it.
By default, the last log is appended at the bottom of the list regardless of the date.
If you want to sort them by date, then you must click the date button.
The cumulative winnings are calculated by the order of entry, not by the date.
Also, when you sort by date, the cumulative winnings aren’t recalculated,
so the displayed cumulative winnings don’t make sense.
After you add a custom field, such as the day of the week, you can’t rearrange
the order of the field columns.
How are you guys keeping track of things?
Has anyone tried Quickbooks or something similar?
Has anyone programmed Excel to do what you want?
Which method do you prefer?

I'm working on a cloud-based QuickBooks team finance-mgmt system, allowing all sessions to be accounted for with forms faxed directly to cloud for entry. Will be one of the highlights of a new open-source, peer-to-peer credit facility concept discussion.

I use a custom made excel sheet for my records. But honestly, I cant imagine keeping records with pen and paper, when excel offers so much.

Excel, customized and then re-customized, ad naseum. Seems like I'm always thinking about something else I want to track.
