I was just wondering how many times that you have been backed off or other wise restricted from playing blackjack. I have been backed off 6 times at 4 different places.
I agree i take pride in my backoffs, its fun to watch them wet their pants and pace circles not knowing what to do.EasyRhino said:You're going to need to expand the poll option to way more than three.

A good AP should never be proud of being backed off you should feel ashamed for getting caught.Ferretnparrot said:I agree i take pride in my backoffs, its fun to watch them wet their pants and pace circles not knowing what to do.
Neither. Backoffs in blackjack are like penalties in football. They're nothing to be proud of and to be avoided if possible, but if you are playing aggressively enough to win you are going to get them, so get over it.SystemsTrader said:A good AP should never be proud of being backed off you should feel ashamed for getting caught.
Bojack although you make a good point, i would also point out that Mike Aponte has the natural camo of being Asian and i think that is a huge part of why it took him soo long to get backed off. I see Asian players using wild spreads all the time and none of them are counting. I also dont think the average pit boss or surveillance guy would be able to pick off one of the MIT guys just by looking at them. Nevertheless, what he was able to get away with is amazing.Bojack1 said:I have a little story concerning backoffs and how "easy" it is for them to happen. About a year and half ago Mike Aponte better known now as MIT Mike filmed a special in which he was shown getting backed off. As most know he is banned from playing in virtually all casinos in Vegas, so thats where they decided to secretly film the back off. Well he almost couldn't get backed off. He went to every casino where he had been forever banned, spread wildly at 2 deck games from table mins to maxs, refusing to be rated, and it wasn't until he finally hit the last one spreading 50 to 1 winning $10,000 that someone finally told him to leave.
What does this mean? First off none that are posting on this board that I know of are as notorious to the casinos as Mike. So if he can play in the casinos doing everything possible to purposely get backed off, and still have a hard time doing it, then I believe the average part time counter should not be so eager to accept the fallacy of playing a winning game means you have to get backed off. Yes, it is a possibility. No, it is not a foregone conclusion. Granted if he had played in one of the local sweat shops a back off would have been easier, but then why as a player would you play where optimal play kills your E.V. I believe if you play long enough you will experience being backed off. I believe if it becomes a regularity then you never learned more than the math of counting, therefore never mastering the craft.
I thought he was a Flip not an Asian. Or do they all look alike to you? :laugh:mjbballar23 said:Bojack although you make a good point, i would also point out that Mike Aponte has the natural camo of being Asian and i think that is a huge part of why it took him soo long to get backed off.
