How many cards on Double down & SPlit/

I'm a beginner but have spent many hours in a casino. Would someone explain how many cards you can draw when splitting and doubling down? I'm in Arkansas so casino rules are about the same around here. Six decks, dealer hits 17, etc.

If you double down then you only get one card. Otherwise you can take as many cards as you want until you bust. However, in most casinos you only get one card when you split aces.

sometimes when you split (other than aces) you may get another opportunity to split again. many casino's will let you do this up to three or four times.... also depending on the rules you may be able to doubledown on those splits.

There are also some Spanish 21 games (a variant of BJ with several player friendly rules, but with tens removed) which allow you to redouble down up to three times. If you redouble all three times, your total bet ends up being 8 times your original bet. This is a very player friendly rule, but is pretty rare in most parts of the country.
