I was just seeing how much money everyone is up from card counting?

I just started like 2-3 weeks ago and so far have played 3 times and I'm up +$280 and my BR is only $2k so thats pretty good for me.

My goal is to get like $14k so I can buy a chrysler 300c...those cars look so nice.

No idea. As a part-timer my BR is part of my general assets and I don't know what comes from my paycheck, what comes from my winnings and what went to buy groceries. It's not important to me; money is money. But when I started I did something similar, saved up my winnings to buy a new truck which I still drive.

Your $280 realized profit is encouraging to you, but in reality it's a random number. It's almost as easy to play with the same advantage and be down $280. In fact it takes tens of thousands of hands to have a reasonable expectation of being ahead. That's what makes the game so difficult; the ratio of the expected swings to the expected profit. Sadly there's absolutely nothing you can do about it other than to keep your betting at the appropriate level for your bankroll/risk tolerance, and get used to the swings.

yeah, hopefully i just stay on the up swing, haha.

if I could double my bankroll even that would be cool...12.5% of the way there

But over time do you believe you are up? Because even though money is money if you are losing a lot thats not good...

Not by a longshot. I'm up. Way up.

I mean if you're up money why not brag about it?
For the same reason I can drive a Rolls, but I choose to drive a Toyota. I don't brag. See what you made me do now! :whip:

lol, well I'm glad to see you are up, I just like to see how much you can win with blackjack, I'm just getting started so trying to see where this could take me (hopefully onto better tables than the $3/$5 minimum I'm playing at now haha)

yeah i guess but we are on a forum so didn't think it'd make you that big of a target
You'd be surprised. The people who I know here that are full-time, high-stakes players have less than 10 public posts. There may be a reason for this.

I'm up over 1% of total wagers over 3-4 thousand hours WITHOUT counting. Using only a lame, conservative, constantly varying depending on roll, mostly negative-progression system way less than half the time.

Not that that answers ur question lol.

Well went back this morning and lost $30 so total up from counting = $250.

Made a few mistakes from BS (still not 100% perfect, but will be by end of the week).

Highlight of the day was when TC was +7 or something and I bet 2 hands of $20 (yeah not that big of a BR, so its a nice sized bet for me haha) and got 2 blackjacks, so I was happy, left shortly after that.

And I hit a joker royal flush on a 10 cent bet on the video poker machines after I lost my first $30 at the table haha, won $15 woo.

You're counting, but still don't know basic strategy?

I messed up on like 2 hands, I know most of it, just have to get it 100%, so yeah don't know it all yet, but I know when I have the advantage and what to bet, haha, but I'll have perfect BS after like 10 mins of looking at the chart, I just messed up a little, just didn't make as much money as I should have.

Oh S**t I just made my 14th post. Does that mean I lost my full time status? LoL Seriously AM is right most of the serious players do not post much on this site.

Down

Down $1800, I've had some very bad swings lately. Just shows that people hit both sides of the std. dev.

If you are uncertain, bring a chart with you and consult it. Nothing wrong with that whatsoever.

I am down for sure, but am not sure how much. At least over 2k, but then again I have never seriously gave a run at Card Counting yet.

Soon though ;)
