How Much $$

What kind of bankroll do you bring with you to a $50 table per session?
It is seldom I leave less than even, but I also know myself well enough to know what I bring is potentially at risk, but want enough to get thru the normal swings. Thanx

CP Joe - $50 Table Minimum - Required Bankroll

"It is seldom I leave less than even,..."

I'm curious Joe, how often do you play? Very impressive to hear you win or break-even a high majority of times. Do you count, and what are the game rules where you play?

Thanks and continued success.

Best, Jim P.

Don't get me wrong, I've had my share of losing sessions! Mostly trying to get even....again, I know myself.

I try to play once a month, usually works out to 9-10 times a year. I'm a good 2+ hours from any casino.
Don't know why but I've always preferred shoe games. I only play 6D, S17, DAS.

To avoid detection I generally play the table minimum and double my bet when the count is favorable, giving me 4 times bets on double opportunities. Eack time I double up my BR, I double the minimum bet and play that again until I double up. If I begin to lose a gain I reduce my bet in half once I reach 1/3 BR loss..... bankroll 1000, bet 25/50. Once BR reaches 2000 bet 50/100. If BR reached 1500, reduce bet back to 25/50..... and regardless of what I get my BR tp to, never bet more than 4 times my starting bet, ie 100 at a 25 table.

So you're spreading 1-2? I don't even think you have an edge.
Are there stats for edge/leverage w. 2 or more decks, typical penetrations, no Wonging? My own experience suggests that 4-1 is about break-even.

There's an article on blackjack forum about frequency distributions and the edge offered by different betting spread. An immediate spread to 4 any time you have an edge may be close to even, depending a lot on rules and penetration.

But why ever spread 1-4? If you're com hustling, I think wonging out of negative counts and flat betting would be better.

EDIT: wait, how many decks is this game? I was assuming it was a shoe...

Don't know about edge? Am I just on a hell of a lucky streak?? I keep meticulous records and I double-up 72% of the time, even about 15%, 13% loss, usually over a 4-6 hour sessions. Before advantage play I was pretty much dead even playing BS. I must admit I've been counting serious a little more than 2 years so I still worried more about going broke than making big $$.
So how should I be betting a $2500 BR at at $50 ph table???

It is going to depend how much risk you want to take and if you have access to another bankroll if this one gets wiped out. Betting 50$ min with 2500BR is going to have an extremely high ROR. If there are 10$ tables with same rules I would play those games instead.

....correct that, I win 72% of my sessions. I only double up about 12%.

Problem is finding any S17, DAS @ $10 table anymore, getting hard find at $25, why I'm thinking of moving up to a $50.

CP Joe, you're not counting or anything, right?

If I were flat-betting $50, I'd probably want to sit at the table with $1000 to have a fairly low chance of tapping out before I could have enough of a session to be "fun". But to be fair, I'd be finding a much cheaper cheaper.

If I were counting in a double deck game with a $50 minimum, I've sat down with $2000, although that's uncomfortable (due to the need to spread to bigger bets).

If counting a shoe game, the need to spread to bigger bets is even bigger, so the session bankroll would be bigger than I can even imagine.
