I am soooo lucky to find a game with early surrender, or so I thought...

2 days ago a casino opened just a 5-10 minute walk from where i live. I have a very limited budget since I have just graduated and don't have any real income. But I decided to go there to try my luck with the blackjack there. I also enjoy all the free food and drinks they are giving away:D. well after having walked around alittle bit I hit the blackjack tabels. The rules were ok
Dealer hit soft 17, DAS, Double on any two cards, European hole card rules, 6 decks and resplit to 4 hands. The table had a 2 dollar min.
I wasn't very lucky(yes I still need to rely on luck to win money even if I can play perfect BS at this point) and I lost my entire day budget of 15 dollar( please don't laugh:joker: ) really soon and went home. The next day(yeasterday) i decided to challenge my luck again and try to win my money back. This time I had more luck and was able to play for awhile. nothing really interesting happen untill I saw a guy next to me surrender against a dealer ace. Remember this is in a game with a no-hole-card rule and even if I am not a proffesional player I know what an advantage this would be. and for 5 minutes I was really happy to have found such an amazing game so close to where I live.
After 5 minutes my happiness was broken when the next dealer ace came up. As i tried to surrender my 13 the dealer sadly told me that this was not possible. Aparently it being a newly opend casino also ment that they had very inexperienced dealers:p . well I am still allowed to surrender anything agains anything but dealer ace which seems to be the normal rules here in panama.
At the end of my evening I was able to walk away with the money I lost the day before.
I might give it another try today aswell. the opening celebrations still isn't over :D . Free food(=

To the moderators: sorry about this rambling thread. if you want to move it to a general thread I completely understand.

I played some spanish 21 game once and saw players double on A5 and hit 3's for 19 etc.

Then when I did I was informed that ace counts as 1 before any double. I was also informed that I could surrender half by bet after a double, but dont get it immedialy, only if the dealer doesnt end up getting a 21.

Also that game your playing sounds terrible. Euro hole card is a joke, or do you loose original bets only?

actually I don't think is so bad

Actually I am not so sure if I lose original bet only or no. I thought that you would lose everything at first cause every casino i have been to here seem to have that as a rule and they dealer don't take any holecard. However last night I got a bit confused when i get to see that one of the players only lost his original bet after havnig split aces agains a dealer ace and the dealer got a blackjack.

I tried talking to the pitboss about this to see if they had some special rule for splitting aces or if you never lose more than original bet when dealer get a blackjack. I am still not quite sure since I couldn't find anybody that was speaking enough english for me to explain properly. I couldn't ask them in spanish since my my spanish isn't very good...yet.

well i will probably spend more time there since they seem to offer the best rules around here and is really close to home so i geuss i will find out as I play unless i find some one that can explain to me in english.

And I really don't think is such a bad game.

6 decks, H17, DAS, No Surrender, No Peek
Estimated casino edge for these rules: 0.77 %

http://www.blackjackinfo.com/bjbse.php?numdecks=6+decks&soft17=h17&dbl=all&das=yes&surr=ns&peek=no

and that is without counting on the modified early surrender rule.(surrender against anything except dealer-ace). That rule should bring the house advantage down to around 0.5% i think which is actually better than a game with US hole-cardrules but no surrender.
0.5% is from what i understand quite normal houseadvantage.
and if you only lose originalbets then it will probably go down to around 0.4%.

I don't think I am wrong, but if I am please correct me:joker: .

Thanks for your trouble.

Yeah thats a pretty bad game.

I play 6 deck DAS S17 no surrender, no peak, but loose original bets only to BJ and thats a edge of 0.58% but you can only double 9-11, and if you doulble soft hands the ace is forced to count as 1.

I am sorry but I really don't understand why you think the game i play is such a bad game. with a 0,5% house edge it is as I understand it a good game and it is better than the game with 0,58% that you are playing. If I lose original bets only with dealer BJ the house edge will go down to 0,4% which as I understand is better than most.
If you still think is a bad game. could you please explain to me in detail. If someone else have any thoughts on this please let me know.
