No it's not an advantage for the BS player.
Since the dealer never shuffles you are going to play more hands per hour and therefore lose more.

CSMs are a little "less worse" for the basic strategy player than a hand dealt game if the rules are the same. They are still a losing proposition. Due to the continuous shuffling and "always" playing with full decks, variance does drop slightly, or so I have been told... of course the faster you play playing straight BS, the more you will lose regardless because of the house edge.
I guess if you wanted to maximize your table time, play a "gambling" game, and not spend a lot of money then a CSM at a full table would be just fine.

The much-maligned CSM does help a basic strategy player but the advantage is so slight, it is really insignificant. The help comes from the "cut-card effect". This is better explained by someone other than myself. You also get more hands dealt per hour meaning you lose faster. It is also very rare to see a non-AP execute perfect basic strategy, anyway. I have had days where I was losing so bad on shoe and pitch games, I walked over to a CSM and recovered my losses! I guess anything can happen in a casino!Sixtyin3 said:
