I think Ustons system as outlined in million dollar blackjack is pretty darn good. It is the most advanced I have used but once you get the hang it is fairly easy to keep track of a busy table with a fast dealer.

The ace count helps alot because your point count may not be that high but if the deck is rich in aces you know when to ramp it up a bit.

Bogota Colombia has some sweet rules, surrender and dealer stays on soft 17. They have mins about a buck or two in town.

Ya, the uston looks like a pretty good system. What i like best about it is a PE of .691 and if you were to use a secondary of A/-3 vs 2,4,5 +1 you could bring your BC up to .989. Problem is, this is ball-busting. Any attempt to keep a secondary with more than two or three cards will result in losses due to errors than could be achieved from any theorhetical gain.

The general majority of players these days prefer a system that is easy to use and simple to master. The extra effort in a stronger system just isnt worth the time. I believe the truth lies somewhere in between. Good luck!

The UAPC is a strong system, but it is just about obsolete these days. The ace side count is really what hurts it. The extra effort really just isn’t worth the trouble in terms of EV. It also doesn't leave much brainpower left for much more powerful advanced techniques. It was probably the strongest system back in the 70s but there are simpler and equally powerful systems that overshadow some of the old systems in today’s game.

In Uston on BJ (1986) he admitted that the UAPC was OBSOLETE. zg
