hello everyone. a couple of questions for the more experienced players on the site... in the illustrious 18 a couple of the plays have a 0 next to it...
13 vs 2 0
12 vs 4 0
im assuming you are supposed to stay on these two hands with a positive count...... if im correct why wouldnt it be listed as +1 instead of 0
thank you in advance

Technically it depends on how you calculate you true count, but I just use the 0 indices like this, very simple.

I use the running count for 0 indices.

For example 16 vs. 10 is 0, I stand if the RC is positive, or hit if the running count is negative.

You asked why not +1? Some of the indices that are close to zero, such as +1, can just be rounded to zero with minimal practical loss in system efficiency. I suggest you get the book "Blackbelt in Blackjack." By Arnold Snyder. I learned this from Arnold Snyder.

Exactly, as a matter a fact, many players that exclusively Wong out at TC 0 or less, (or whatever), develop a "counters basic strategy" just as you're doing.

Sounds like you're getting off to a good start. Stay disciplined and play only in positive shoes, if you're playing shoes.
