Is this cheating?

I was playing a pitch game recently with this dealer that suspected I was a CC. With a couple rounds before the cut card the dealer says I should shuffle only reason she gives is the next round will be bad. I convince her to keep dealing she deals only one more round the whole table wins. She wanted to shuffle up on a +10 TC!!! She did this a couple more times on lower plus counts until a high roller joined the table and she stopped doing this. It wasn't preferential shuffling ,because this casino does not preferential shuffle and it wasn't based on how much I bet. It only happened a couple times not every time it was a high +TC somtimes it would be around +3 . She would only shuffle up one or two rounds early not like preferential shuffling that could be done after the first round.

It wasn't based on my bets. I had a max bet out the hand before and the dealer did not shuffle. She never shuffled up more than one or two rounds early when it was a positive count.

1) how would she know what a max bet was
2)how many rounds was she dealing? In a pitch game, you don't get too many so two rounds early is quite a bit.

The cut card was 60% on DD game. With 3 people at the table. It was not like other dealers that look at my variance in bets then shuffle up.She would not base it on how I was varyied my bet. I had same bet as hand before and she still shuffled early.

a) Did she EVER shuffle in a negative count?
b) Does this casino use a cut card in double deck games?

While there is a chance she was just trying to be friendly and shuffle up when the "flow of the cards" was bad, the answer to a) is really going to determine what was happening. The friendly advice is just cover. That's what happened to me the one time I was getting preferentially shuffled on (most of the places around here use a cut card).

If she was preferentially shuffling, not sure why she'd stop if there was a high roller (well, unless he was a verified sucker who liked the game dealt all the way).

Never shuffled up early in negative counts. The DD uses a cut card. The higher roller is known player in the casino. The first time she was going to shuffled up. The excuse the flow of cards was bad would not work, because the three of us had been getting decent hands. When I have been shuffled up in the past it was blatantly obvious what the dealer was doing even for the ploppies at the table.

Appears she was an independent contractor shuffling for reasons of her own. For spite? Who knows? She apparantly was counting, but from what you say, she was not pref-shuffling for the house. I couldn't tell you what her ulterior motive was. Maybe she was trying to get you and other counters if any off the table so that her confederate could come on board with a clean table. Heck! Maybe the high roller was her confederate since she stopped the pref-shuffling when he joined. Picture this: a dealer who is also a good counter. The dealer signals his confederate when it is time to ramp up the bet. Maybe everyone hitting big would draw too much heat so she's trying to get you to leave so she can work with only ploppies and her friend at the table. I know. I know. I am paranoid. Can't help it--I grew up in a pool room where nothing is what it seems. lol

Yes, it's cheating. The dealer's cheating you out of your right to play in positive counts.

What am I missing here?
Why wasn't she shuffling at the cut card? And how do you know the hi-roller is known or not?

She would somtimes shuffled before the cut card in positive TC's the first time it was really high 10+

The dealer told me the guy plays at the casino often.

shuffle before the cut card comes?

Thinking that early on no one at this casino knows I am playing at an advantage, I would not hesitate to say something if the dealer decides to shuffle on a +3 count. Had it been a negative count of course I keep my mouth shut.
I would want the pit to tell me if this was their procedure (dealer shuffles when they want) and if he tells me their dealers can shuffle whenever they want, I would be a pest and ask if they will also shuffle if I want?
Since I am an unknown, I would probably tell him it is not right and leave.

Now if I had been playing there a while I might think this is directed towards me and say nothing but leave shortly to return at another time and see if the same thing happens.

I'd be really tempted to call her out on shuffling before the cut card.

That, or only play when the whale is at the table.

She is probably shuffling when she see's a lot of small cards coming out in a shoe because she thinks you're a counter. Sucks when that happens. You could try putting a tip out and then if she shuffles, pull it back because "everyone knows the dealer always wins the first couple of rounds at the begining of a shoe." It might be a better idea to stay away from her in case she starts telling others that she thinks you're a counter.

i would ask her why, and then if she starts being stupid/weird, just call the pit over and say that the shoe was going good and everybody is winning, and she wants to shuffle up.. that should be a nice slap in the face to her
