This should have some application, along with the homemade RFID zapper. zg
CCTV Busting Infra-Red Headset
Makes You Invisible

A German art project could help the British avoid the oppressive proliferation of surveillance cameras in their country. The I-R.A.S.C is simple, consisting of a circle of infra-red LEDs mounted on a headband. The infra red is invisible to The Man, but will cause CCTV cameras to flare out over the face of the wearer, obscuring his identity and making this the digital equivalent of a hooded sweatshirt.

This is not a production unit, but given that you'd only need a hat, a battery and a few LEDs, you could easily knock one up in the garage.

For thwarting visible-spectrum surveillance, I recommend using a miner's headlamp with a 10,000 candlepower bulb.

That's pretty cool ....but wouldn't that raise red flags just for the fact that you were wearing it?

Yeah, it would only draw immediate attention from the eye in the sky from the moment you walk in. If a brightly glowing ball floating around the casino doesn't get their attention, nothing will (other than cleavage).

"Who the hell is this guy with the glowing face?! He must be up to something."

I would think guys that stick up 7-11s would find this type of stuff to be good to keep their mugs from being taped.

Does it work for store cameras like you see in robberies on the news?

Dude this is an awsome idea, they make hats with regular leds in them already they are really stupid and tacky, but say if you replaced a few with some IR leds, youd have the perfect cover, a crackhead with a light up hat that said PIMP in flashing red blue and green
the surveylance, might be suspicious, but when they saw it was a tacky light up hat they might just assume it was a side effect fo the regular leds and not look at it as ifyou wearing some high tech gadget that they are unaware of.
