learning

Okay boys and girls, new meat.

Beginning April 1st I will be trained by an expert card counter. I will be in Vegas in June. Is that long enough to learn anything to not leave the house, car and other property there or is more time needed?

thanks

learning to count

It depends who the so called expert is. Beware of charlatans and frauds. Seek knowledge and truth and most of all read the chapters on the generic KO Basic strategy and the chapter on the beggining KO count. Ko is the best for a begginer. It is a count which after I tried I found to be excellent even for a few professional Card Counters I know. Slim do you really love the LV club as your profile states. I like the LVC too. Good game some heat but if you play quick and short you can cut an edge too. You have picked a great site to seek truth and knowledge. Great to see you here!!!

Being trained is one step. The easy one.

Let me ask you a few questions:

1) How large is your bankroll? That is, in total, the amount you
are willing to invest in blackjack?

2) Have you ever lost significant amounts of money in a short period of time

3) What is your long term goal with respect to blackjack?

Best of luck! But, I suggest that you also read a few books while being "trained" -- you may discover that your teacher is not who/what you think he is.

I Ching

There are 64 basic principles of natural law. The Ancients studied the world created by God and tried to form a method to discover His movements, just like we have created counting and tracking to discover the location of the Ace and 10 cards. Crude, but as close as man can get. The first five are indications of the proper learning process:

The first principle is Heaven, which means you need a teacher. "Heaven helps the man who is true...."

Second one is Earth, or student, from the idea of being receptive. You have to be ready willing and able to learn.

Ch'ien - The Creative
K'un - The Receptive
Chun - Difficulty at the Beginning
Mêng - Youthful Folly
Hsu - Waiting (Nourishment)

The Mayor has also warned you about who your teacher might be. I won't tell you the principle that applies, but don't be waving your money in front of him. If he is truely a great teacher (don't bother with anything less) he will not be interested in money. He is interested in passing on his knowledge to someone capable, or receptive, and wants nothing for that priviledge. YOU complete the teacher by being ready.

That's your voodoo lesson for today.

Thank you for your response. I am always willing to learn.

To answer your questions:

Will be coming in right after my daughters wedding so slim will be slim. between 3 and 5K. closer to 3.

yes. Haven't we all. Been on both sides of this.

Enough to pay the airline bills and all incidentals while there.
If more comes that would be nice.

Thanks again.
