I Ching
There are 64 basic principles of natural law. The Ancients studied the world created by God and tried to form a method to discover His movements, just like we have created counting and tracking to discover the location of the Ace and 10 cards. Crude, but as close as man can get. The first five are indications of the proper learning process:
The first principle is Heaven, which means you need a teacher. "Heaven helps the man who is true...."
Second one is Earth, or student, from the idea of being receptive. You have to be ready willing and able to learn.
Ch'ien - The Creative
K'un - The Receptive
Chun - Difficulty at the Beginning
Mêng - Youthful Folly
Hsu - Waiting (Nourishment)
The Mayor has also warned you about who your teacher might be. I won't tell you the principle that applies, but don't be waving your money in front of him. If he is truely a great teacher (don't bother with anything less) he will not be interested in money. He is interested in passing on his knowledge to someone capable, or receptive, and wants nothing for that priviledge. YOU complete the teacher by being ready.
That's your voodoo lesson for today.
