What was the highest any counter has bet on a five buck min table? My max bet is $100 - just curious to see if anyone has ever used more than a 1-20 spread on a shoe game

what would your True count need to be in order to bet $100?

The most I've bet on a $5 table was $60 with a TC of +12/+13

So what kind of betting strategy does everyone use?

I learned to do:

( True Count - 1 ) x Betting Unit

Is this a good way to bet?

Sorry if this kind of takes away from the main topic :X

Biggest bet on a $10 table

Sometimes I play at this casino where the shoe game has the same rules on both $10 and $25 and higher limit tables. Often though, the lower limit tables are crowded, so I hit the higher ones but there are exceptions. One thing that I have noticed there is on certain shifts, penetration was always better on a $10 table compared to higher tables.
So, if I was planning a spread of $50 to $500, or even multi hands of around $500 ($500 is the table limit), and am playing all. There is nothing from stopping me from making $10 bets on negative counts or even at the start of the shoe.
In this situation, right before I needed to leave anyway, one time I got a monster count and bet 3 hands (they only allow 3 max) of $500 each on the last hand of a shoe. Won, pushed and lost, so nothing really happened except, my extreme spread was 1 hand of $10 to 3 hands of $500.

Expect a lot of attention if you ever do this, especially if you have been winning all along. In that case hit the door.
If you have been losing as this situation is building and have a excellent steamer act, you might be able to pull it off and keep on playing, but remember you still have alerted them and they will be watching.

sonny- you would really spread from $5-$500?
The question never mentioned anything about a minimum bet, only what the player's maximum bet was. :) IHate17 trumped my answer by playing multiple hands of the table max. In that case the maximum, by definition, is Table Max * Max Hands Allowed.

There is always room for negotiation with the pit crew to adjust the max bet. With politeness and persuasion you may be able to talk the PB into letting you place higher max bets on the given table.

You will be allowed to play as many hands at the table max ( 500 in this case ) as you like. Another approach would be to find a table with a higher min, back count it until your TC lets you play with what the table limit is. Usually @ a higher limit table the pen and rules favor us as players. In the High Stakes areas you will find the best rules whether it be single deck, double deck or shoe games.

I have found during slow midweek days on the strip, you can pretty much get the rules you want at any table at MGM, Mirage, Luxor and several other mega casinos in LV.

Approach them with a smile and a good attitude and they will reciprocate.

Good Luck!
