Misdeal question?

I have a question on this misdeal that was dealt recently. I was sitting at a table with five people with a big bet out the count was really high. The dealer started dealing and passed me up and upon dealing the ace to the player next to me realized his error. He calls the floorman over and is told to continue exculding me from the ordered deal until the end when I recieve the last two cards out. The floorman allows anyone that wants to pull back thier bets to pull them back. The guy next to me got a natural and me a sixteen with the dealer showing a face. I pulled the bet back without saying anything but thought it wasn't done right. I would have thought he could just back the cards up since it was only the first ones out. blackchipjim

Misdeal

I have never seen a floorperson back-up cards that have been dealt. I was playing yesterday and the same thing happened. The dealer failed to give a card to a player. The floorman allowed us to pull our bets back if desired. I even saw a dealer fail to give herself a first card. Cards were not backed up at that time, either.

I agree...I've never seen one backed up either. Last time in AC, had a full table except one, but was crowded with some big guys there. Dealer deals the open spot, but the PB told her to deal it out like there was a player there. We had the choice to pull 'em back too...can't remember if it was after she dealt us both our cards or not though.

good luck

Seen them backed up when dealt to the dealer

Not often, but several times, I have seen dealers forget to hit 3rd base, give themselves a card and the pit give that card to third base. Happened to me a few weeks back.
Sitting at third base I double A,2 vs dealer 5, while the dealer is distracted telling a story to a player. He turns a 4 in the hole and hits an 8 for 17, and I calmly say, "I really want that 8." It takes like a second time delay but it dawns on him that he never gave me my double card. Pit comes over and I smile at her and repeat, "I really want that 8". She slides it my way, and the dealer takes another card (K), and she tells the dealer to push the losing hands.

And that was the only right thing to do. Of course, those who pushed on a losing hand got a great break there.

Catching dealers mistakes is part of AP. Payoffs, miss deals etc. How many times has the dealer not payed the correct amount to you on a BJ?

In a perfect world the answer would be 0, because you would have caught the mistake each time. If you bet weird amounts, it helps to be able to do the math quickly.
Also watch for those dealers who do not match your bets on hands where you split to 3 or 4 hands and then have doubles on a few of them. This is especially true if you have multi-colored bets.

Dealer goofs

Whether or not you are an AP, you must pay attention. Yesterday I had a winning hand. The dealer picked up my chips instead of paying me. Things like this happen almost every trip. Of course, sometimes they PAY me by MISTAKE, too!.

Yeah, I barely caught a missed payout a few weeks ago. I had done something marginal like double a 10 vs an ace (I don't usually do that, even in a high count). dealer goes to collect my chips, I inform that it's a push, she puts a stack back, then the player next to me reminds that I had doubled down. Puts the other stack back.
