This may belong in one of the Regional Casino Thread areas, but after reading "Busting Vegas" by Ben Mezrich, I am wondering about the Casino in Monte Carlo.

It seems like if this is such an amazing casino with No Maximum bets, wouldn't more people travel there and talk about it more?

Through all my time reading books and talking on forums, no one has ever brought it up.

I thought that Monte Carlo was a place where only the "somebodies" could get in through the gates...but if that dude was allowed in, I must have thought wrong.

I played there when I was a student backpacking across Europe many moons ago.

LOL! Perhaps! I think I just have it mixed up with another place in So. France that supposedly only allows certain people through the gates.

Technically this may be true, because some gaming venues don't allow locals to play, and Monte Carlo may be one of them.

I think you have to dress in formal clothing but thats the only thing preventing you from entering.

And it may be illegal but im not sure.

Its not illegal, they just don't allow it and consider it cheating. Big money counters can get a police escort out of the country and maybe their money confiscated. zg

I may be confused, but I thought they had two casinos. One wear you dressed and the other for the riff raff (us).

That's definitely Europe. Vegas has hundreds of casinos that cater to the latter. Europe has it all "backwards." :grin:
