The paradox of playing in higher Ev games/sessions...
-------------------------
... that are due to various good-conditions (like deep pene% and high count betting opps) is that they are often the ones where we experience our biggest losses. we need a good name for this apparent paradox. zg

yeah something with more pizzaz than negative fluctuation!
something on the order of Arnold Snyder's "others will win but not you" syndrome.

1) Exponentially Exposed Paradox.
2) Be Careful What You Wish For Paradox
3) "Tora, Tora, Tora"
4) "Geronimo!"

The Big Fish Paradox.

You hook the fish of your dreams, a trophy fish. Manage to reel it in and you'll be very happy. Another possibility is in 30 seconds you'll be sitting on your ass with a stripped reel and a broken pole in your hands.

A good count is like a fish. You never know when one is going to come around. Hooking it and catching it is what it's all about, but you can lose some equipment in the process. Always fish with extra hooks and lures and always play properly capitalized.

Winner's paradox

I don't mind saying, "I lost, but I had the best of it!" It sure beats saying, "Boy, was I ever stupid!"

1) Investment, not a loss

2) Exception that proves the rule

3) Never say never

4) Losing with the best of it

5) Pulling defeat out of the jaws of victory

6) Short run loser

7) Blip

8) Air pocket

9) Growing pain

10) Bull market correction

11) Counter's dilemma

12) Trouble in paradise

13) Backfire

14) Negative resistance

15) Reality check

16) Blood test

17) BR tester

18) Counter terrorism

19) Counter productive

20) Winner's migraine

21) Frequent Flyer's Syndrome

Looks like the ballots (Ballot?) is in, but I'll past-post anyways:

Negative bonus
Exposed win
The Duck-nibble wholeswallow
Armload of Faberge Eggs
Outrunning the wave
Stomping barefoot in the rose patch
Porcupine sex

i'll take a crack at it:

The eigencount of a non-zero eigencount is the scale factor by which it has been multiplied times an uncertainty factor, which is equal to plus or minus one. For the math minded counter, it is this key uncertainty factor which is of the most significance, yet is unable to be known at any given state, or round without perturbing the system. One most assuredly could snatch a shoe from the dealer at any given moment, thus determining the exact value of the uncertainty factor for n number of remaining rounds, but in the process would definitely negate the possibility of those rounds from being played out, or from that player being allowed to return to said table at which the experiment is being performed. thus perturbation is a necessary condition for determination, but determination necessarily negates realization of the outcome.

I think an appropirate name for this paradox is:

stochastic entanglement
