Need some help cashing in some Bellagio chips

Hi all I paid a quick visit to the Bellagio last night and had to leave in a hurry, before I could visit the cashier's cage. Now I have all these chips to cash in. Any idea what I should do?

Or come back later. Or, my preferred option for the entertainment value, bring in a herd of strippers like in the movie :laugh::laugh:

Oh no...an easy rider robbed Bellagio...

I hope you did not rob it for 1.5 million bucks in chips
Here's the story:

A police spokeswoman said:

"the unidentified suspect entered the [Bellagio] casino...at about 3:50 a.m. ... wearing a full-face motorcycle helmet, and walked directly to a craps table...He pulled a gun, told everyone not to move and took approximately $1.5 million worth of casino chips. The suspect then ran back out to the motorcycle..."

Can't you just drive your motorcycle back there?

Ok, I understand going to the table and having your way because you have a gun. But loading that many chips into a bag would take a long time and even if you DID manage to load up the chips, how on earth would you make it to the door?!?

For those of you who didn't see the news, there was a robbery of $1.5M in chips at Bellagio. I presume AM's post is a joke. If not, AM call me - someone we both know is arriving in LV today and can probably help.

Some of the chip denominations were as high as $20 thousand.

Good luck to him trying to cash in those chips.:laugh: You don't think security will be on anyone's ass in 2 seconds if they try cashing in a $20,000 chip?

Ferret - AM's post was a joke. Neither of us are currently in LV.

If someone was counting the DD at Luxor they need to look harder for games.

God I'm so dumb, but for real, you guys should totally come to vegas so we can play together.
My last trip to Vegas was a few months ago and I'm in no hurry to go back. I thought conditions had significantly deteriorated and it was a very inefficient place to play, searching for opportunities. Especially disappointing was some sloppy dealers had clearly been retrained at dumps I would never walk into otherwise. What's the world coming to? :)

You'll be surprise how "smart" a chip-hijacker is in finding loopholes, i.e., first he may need to nuke the RFID-chips in his microwave-oven, then he may be able to unload the chips in the black market & the unsuspected highrollers/poker-players. For example, years ago another chip-hijacker unloaded his AC-Hilton-gray-chips to unsuspected-gamblers at a deep discount, (i.e., 500 bucks cash for each gray-chip) with this excuse/sales-pitch: "My girlfriend-dealer found this chip on the floor. Since she can't cash it, I'll sell this $5,000 chip to you for $500, OK?"

One way or another, those chips are going to end up back at the Bellagio, and that's going to create a trail back to the robber. The poker room is a good idea, as they will make less of a splash if they end up being played in a NL game. (Never played NL, are you allowed to dig into your pocket to call a raise?) The casino isn't programmed to see what happens in the poker room as a threat to them. They can be passed around a group of accomplices in the poker room over a period of time to obscure the trail. In fact if they only keep tape for a week, they could pass it around in there long enough so that the scene where it was originally brought into a game is lost.

Most of the chips had to have been extremely large denominations, since pictures of the thief running showed he had no bag--the chips were stuffed in his pockets. I am not a poker player, but I have never seen $25,000 chips in poker room. Even $5,000 chips would draw immediate attention in most large poker rooms. Besides, surveillance will have pictures of everyone introducing the chips into the games, plus they'll have the player's card IDs of most the players. Those without player ID's, but utilizing large denom chips will command instant scrutiny.

Right. A few years ago it would not have been uncommon to see large denomination chips in Bobby's Room but even then $25,000 chips would have stood out. During Andy Beal's famous poker game with the likes of Ted Forrest, Phil Ivey, et al they used $25,000 chips for the $50,000 - 100,000 LHE game. That was a twice in a lifetime event.

Now, the nosebleed high stakes play is online or shifting to Macau.
