No hole card -- playing stiffs at 3rd base

Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster here.

At my local casinos we play a no hole card game, except dealer blackjack results in the loss of only the original bet.

My question is regarding playing stiffs at 3rd base -- any card that you don't take goes to the dealer. Many times I made a pat 17/18/19 from my stiff 13/14/15/16 against a dealer 10, only to see the dealer next draw a 10/face. If I stand on my stiff dealer would have busted.

Basic strategy states it's poor play to stand. But in situations when a good card for me would be a bad card for dealer anyways (and vice versa), I wonder whether there are exceptions. If anyone has done maths on this topic and would like to present the results that would be fantastic.

The first card left is Card A. You have a choice of taking it or leaving it to the dealer.
The second card is Card B. It only can come into play if you take Card A.

As the value of both Card A and Card B is unknown, how can it make any difference which card you or he gets.
