Only in AC!

This weekend I'm playing, just finished demolishing two shoes in a row with big counts and big spreads, and the dealer points to me, addresses the table, and says "Do you realize this guy is one of the best blackjack players in the country?" And the PB just stood there and smiled, congratulating me on my win.

I got out of there of course, but there is a certain appeal to playing in this mediocre environment where you can grind for as hard and as long as you wish, with no fear of the pit.

Sorry, I must have missed something. Why did you not get backed off?
It's illegal to back players off in New Jersey. They can do things to make the game unplayable for you, but unless you are playing very high stakes they generally don't bother, they just let you do it and make their game look good.
