Recently was provided promotional chips and used them at the blackjack table. However, I was chastised by friends who said I should have played Euro roulette while betting red/black for their so-called "even money", rather than risk at the bj table. Can anyone on the board explain the best AP method to maximize the return on these chips? Playing BJ from a new deck, I figured the EV for the promo chip would be something like:
(49%+24.5%+12.25%+6.125%+3.06+1.53+.76+.38+.19+ continuing series (with the cumulative probabilities of winning 1,2,3,4, etc hands consecutively with a single chip), with a total EV in the neighborhood of 98% of the promo chip value, approximating the house advantage with BS (not including counting strategy) versus the approximately 97.5% of the promo chip value one could expect to earn playing roulette.
Are my assumptions correct? Is this the best utilization of the promo chips? Any other strategy or games employed by the AP vets to max their value? Wonging in + counts, etc? Would appreciate insight from the board vets by response or PM.
