Over/Under 13 profitable?

Can this side game be profitable? Is there a method using the Hi-Lo count to determine when to bet OVER and when to bet UNDER?

what effect would it have on the expected advantage if you were only able to bet half of your blackjack bet in the over under. If i bet 10 in the normal BJ I can only bet 5 in the side bet.

When the over or under is favorable, just bet whatever you need to on the main blackjack bet, to allow the larger O/U bet. The advantage on O/U is often large, so you can easily afford the larger blackjack bet, even in negative counts.

I once invented an unbalanced count to take advantage of the Over 13 bet. Later I was pleased to find my work confirmed when I found out I had reinvented the Sys. 1: count described in this article:
http://www.blackjackforumonline.com/content/unbalancedoverunder.htm

I have to say that in my personal, short-term use of it, it's like watching paint dry. Even with excellent penetration, the opportunities to bet the Over 13 were very few. This could easily have been due to bad luck on my part, however.

I tell ya, reading that writeup on the over/under 13 bet got me more excited than anything else this year.

Then I noticed it was dates 17 years ago, and it felt like my dog died and I lost my ice cream at the same time.

Is it still offered anywhere in the US?

Yes, but where I play, for example, the max bet allowed on it is $25, so it's not like you can get rich off it.

Hell, that's almost my max bet anyway, is it in MN?
Yeah Mystic Lake, but the amount of money you bet on the over/under side game can not be higher than the regular blackjack bet

I believe the max bet is on o/u is half of your BJ bet, and as canceler said $25 max. Not really worth it.

Hi
Did someone try this Arnold Snyder's over/under balanced system in practice http://www.blackjackforumonline.com/content/Over_Under_Card_Counting_System.htm

The article was written 20 years ago. Are these numbers correct ?? So using this system i should put big bet on "over" when TC is +3 and bet on "under" when TC is -6 ??
ps. Did some1 try to put big bet when TC is -6 ?? lol little risky i think:)

I was earlier using Hi Lo method and bet over at TC +4 or higher. I was playing bad i think because Arnold Snyder says that u should bet on Over at +5 if You use Hi Lo.

Use the system exclusively created for this bet, as the advantage is higher than just counting. Play basic strategy. The advantage comes from when you win the under bet at - counts, that hedges your main bet.
