Does Pai Gow Plus offer an advantage? In this version of Pai Gow you may elect to bet against a second hand called the dragon after you have already seen your own cards. This would seem to offer an advantage over regular Pai Gow. Does anyone here Play this game?

I usually don't play Pai Gow. Not beatable even if hole-card, but great for sitting at a table and getting drunk. Some dealers you can get under 30 hands an hour.

Maybe you can get an edge on the side bet if you see other players' cards?

I was thinking that. If all at the table were your team and you could see their several hands, wouldn't that give you a hugh advantage deciding whether to play the dragon hand (not only for you, but for each member of the team.

Sounds like something we need to sit down and calculate. The house edge is somewhat large to begin with (1 1/2 percent I believe). Can you bet more than your normal bet on the side bet? Do they care if you look at each other's hands? Whats the initial advantage of the side bet, vs the new advantage?

Something seems wrong about not having to place a side bet until after you have seen your cards. When you have an unbeatable or very strong hand you would bet table max. What fraction of your initial wager can you bet? 1:1?
I could see that game allowing you to play against the house OR the dragon, but both??.

You cannot bet more than the amount of your original bet.

You can not bet more than your original bet. Yes, I don't think there is a rule against seeing the other players cards. Just like in BJ. I don't know what the house advantage is, either before the original hand, or after you have seen yours and the other players cards.
