Past or Future

I went a little out of my way to go to this one casino. Walk into the casino see one full table and one empty table. Great conditions start playing, but they don't use a discard tray!:flame: The dealer holds the deck at all times he would put the used cards back at the bottom of deck under the cut card. I was having the hardest time trying to figure out the true count. Has anyone ever come across this? Is this a new way of dealing handheld games or a old thing that has pretty much died out?

How long does it take to get to the cut card?

And how much time has passed since the deck started? You could use the time to determine how much has been dealt.

I think it was 6 rounds heads up. I only played game for two shuffles and left. I guess I could have estimated how many would be left, but I would rather be able to see the cards in the discard tray and went to another casino.

Just one more reason to use an unbalanced count for handheld games. There are a few different ways of handling the cards in a handheld game that can make true counting difficult.
