Perfect count..

Hey guys, I was just wondering since the casino always has the advantage I am curious, as to what the advantage would be if you were to know a Perfect count. Basically would the odds be in your favor if you knew exactly how many 2's 3's 6's etc have been dealt out. Would this give you enough of an edge to overcome the house advantage? Thanks in advance

I would say that your first statement isn't necessarily true. In the game of blackjack, the player can have an advantage depending on the proportion of high cards in the deck/shoe. That is the underlying basis for card counting, pretty much regardless of what method one uses.

good luck

The casino doesn’t always have the advantage. The advantage changes every time a card is removed so it is constantly fluctuating. The cards will favor the player about 25% of the time. It is possible to always have an advantage over the casino if you avoid the hands where you don’t have the edge.

Not unless you know what to do with that information. For example, you know that there are exactly 12 twos, 8 threes, 10 fours, 22 fives, 20 sixes, 15 sevens, 18 eights, 12 nines, 18 tens and 22 aces. What do you bet? How do you play your hand? Should you take insurance? That information is useless unless you know how to use it. :(

Back in the good ol' days when people were wearing computers into the games, which could track every card and know what to do with it, I believe the advantage did end up being pretty darn big. Like 5% or so? More than the .5-1.5% from counting for sure.

(Note that playing with the aid of a computer is extremely illegal since about 1985.)

Of course this technique, would be easier, but still virtually impossible, for the one and two deck games. I think this would be a job for rain man.

Dont think it would work, or even how, but, it might be possible to use some sort of sub-concsious or selective memory to get an edge.

derren is a magician, so sure there is a trick somewhere  i think it's not an advantage to know how many cards are out because you don't know exactly which cards are going out, so it can be every card in the deck that is left. so is equal to hi lo ;)
