Player only gets dealt 1 card - PB Solution

I was playing at a casino yesterday and after the dealer deals all the cards the lady at 3rd base realizes she was only dealt 1 card.

So the Dealer calls over the PB who says, "Ok, deal her a card", so the Dealer deals her a new card from the shoe.

Someone then says "Can we take our bets back?" to which the PB responds "Just continue the hand."

So the first 2 players stand, and I hit my 13 against the Dealer 10 and BUST, and when the dealer goes to take the chips the PB says "No, leave them."

The lady after me hits and makes a hand, and the next lady busts but the PB again says "Leave the chips."

The Dealer ends up drawing a 21, beating everyone, but the PB says "Don't take anyone's bets."

I have never seen that before!

P.S. Someone later asked the dealer why DD is dealt face down and he said "So people can't count cards".

So the whole thing was a wash and the PB was just making sure that nothing flared up at the table. Does seem odd to play it all out like that.

That does seem like an odd way to handle it. But I think pit critters in most places are given lot of leeway in correcting dealing and pay errors.

At a local indian casino here a similar thing happened. the PB was this sexy milf every man was howling for.. She came to the table with a huge smile on her face and announced that we could continue to play the muffed hands.. If we win, we get paid. If we lose, we take our bets back.

I fell in love.

For the player it turned even better than get the option of pulling back the bets. I'm sure you would got paid if you made a hand.

That's the kind of PB we all dream about. Never seen it either. Was this a local's place with a lot of competition or just a not-so-sharp pb? Either way it could be a gold mine.

OK! She left off the all important "as well" part; but typical dealer rhetoric.

It was an Indian casino but it has a good amount of competition within an hour drive in all directions.

Had I known I couldn't lose maybe I should have doubled!

It is quite standard in most casinos. If there is a procedure mistake, they will keep the game going. If players win, they win. If players lose, they get the money back (so it is a push).

I would DISAGREE that it's quite standard. The standard I've seen is that everyone gets their chance to back out of the hand. Then play continues.

I had a hand where the dealer forgot to give herself a hole card. PC says she gets the next 2 cards. Flips up a 9. I ask if we get the chance to back out, he says NO. I protest that that's not how it's usually handled. He said that we're handling it this way this time. I busted :(

It is PA standard. I was pleasantly surprised when I got the treatment in the Rivers and Meadows.

What you described is what happened to me in AC years ago.
