In a casino with an 8 deck shoe , dAS on 17, 1.5 deck pen and betting the same amount on each hand from $25.00 to 125.00 per hand . Which is the best combination to play ? One , two , or 3 hands using only BS and not counting cards . TY in advance as always !:)

Wait, slight modulation.

Let's say you're dead set on betting $20 per round.

If you play two hands of $10 each, your bankroll swings will be less erratic than if you played a single hand of $20. This reduced variance may or may not be appealing to you.

However, playing 2 hands of $20 with give you BOTH more variance AND greater total loss to the casino.

I agree with you. Unless maybe one plays one hand at a time at a full table but for some reason chooses to play 2 hands at a time 1-to-1 vs the dealer and starts getting 20 more dealer upcards an hour. Then u might end up losing more per hour. Or winning!

I suppose playing 3 hands would be even better for reducing variance than 2 hands.

What about having 2 non counting friends playing at the same table, watching my bets and ramping the same as me (with some variation to avoid being totally obvious)? If I bankroll the whole thing and bets are 50% of my usual, what affect does covariance have on my ROR and EV? We each would be spreading 25-175 in DD, S17, DAS. And backcounting 6D S17, DAS, LS, entering at TC+1 and exiting at TC-1 with a spread of 50 - 200. Are there implications beyond a "back off" for this type of collusion? I got a sim but can't program it for 3 hands.

We have tried this and of course it can be obvious when they look over at my bet each hand. Also, at times I will give a signal with chips to give them a bet deviation, but that's pretty obvious also. We keep sessions short and move around to several casinos. Any advice on avoiding heat?
