Playing with sick dealers.

In AC today,I'm playing at a table full of Asians when the replacement dealer shows up.Shes not there thirty seconds when she breaks out a tissue and starts blowing her nose.It seemed like every two minutes, she'd be blowing her nose, then handling the chips and cards for awhile before doing it again. She emptied out the table in under five minutes. Disgusting.
How do casinos usually handle something like this/ I've had a dealer sniffle a few times but this was over the top.

In CT stores, the dealer is not allowed to have tissues. If they have a snot problem, they call the PC who brings them a box of tissues. The dealer blows nose, then the floor turns the box upside down, dealer places the used tissues on the underside of the box and they're discarded.

I've seen enough filth at the table that I'm washing my hands so many times per session, my skin gets irritated. There's really no substitute for it though.

Shad, you just need to get right up, color out and tell her:"I'm outta here. This game blows".

A can of Lysol
How about a bottle of nose drops laced with that "Source" stuff?
That ought to cure what ails her.

The bottom line is all the chips are comingled and potentially touched by all of the players at the table and the dealer. Anybody overtly sick at the table is a problem and a good reason to switch tables. We play a very unsanitary game. Keep the chips out of your mouth and avoid rubbing your eyes!

You'd have to take half a bottle of Vitamin C before messing with her chips! A sick dealer is a good reason to take plenty of bathroom breaks to wash up if you happen to be playing all...of course, you could use her sick ass as an exit strategy excuse to wong out. Maybe a sick dealers isn't too bad of a deal after all.

good luck

Well at Salamanca while just playing the dealer suddenly called out in a very loud voice, much much louder than check play etc

"BOOGER CHIP IN PLAY".

It was a riot. I think I fell out of my chair laughing.

Now Im no Doctor, but........

I think Some Pathogens are more easily contracted than others. For one, some have to be Ingested, Inhaled or even trough direct blood-contact itself.
Also I think(speculating here) some germs can live outside the body for paticular amounts of time, while some cant. And by the means, of which you con-tract a germ can be just as Important as well. Basically, In general the easier it is to leave something such as lets say a....fingerprint on, the easier it would be to con-tract a certain germ. Such as glass, plastic, and rubber.

Door knobs, Ink pens, lighters, chips, cards, hand shakes,....etc are just some examples that would hold/absorb fingerprents. While others items, such as paper money, and certain woods, wont transmit germs as easily as other elements would.
Washing your hands as people have suggested is the most powerful weapon to pevent infection as well as a strong immune system.

Exactly. Unless someone at the table is carrying anthrax intact skin is sufficient to protect you. Just keep hands and cheques away from your mouth, and wash your hands when you leave the table. None of this hand sanitizer crap either- soap and water.

If you have a cut on your hand, bandage it and carry spare band-aids for after hand washings.

Oh one other thing- never put your hand underneath your chair to move it. They almost all have chewing gum under there, I found out the disgusting way. What slobs.

I just wanted to add, while were on the subject. Its a good Idea to keep hand held items such as your mose, keyboard, and remote controls clean as well.
I saw on the news the other day how kids were getting sick in schools from their keyboards. And dont forgot to wash your pillow cases. These get dirty real easily.

They don't work nearly as well as washing. Especially if your hands are really dirty.
That's a good point. Those gels will kill most of the germs but they won't get rid of the grimy stuff that you find all over the casino. Nothing but a good hard scrub will take care of that! :vomit:

Buffets?

Speaking of cleanliness, you know what I've never understood? Buffets.

Everyone touches the same tongs to serve their food. How unsanitary is that?
