Poker side bet, what to look for?

The most common side bet where I play is the Poker bet (dealers up card plus my cards). And sometimes an additional Top Bet. The poker bet pays 9-1 ($45 on a $5 bet). When should one place a bet on this?

I assume this is the side bet you are talking about. It appears it can be beat, but only if you track suits. It does not look like a good bet to me.
