positive counts

Assuming you are playing a game where you get positive counts more often than normal (example: a bunch of extra big cards are added to a shoe such that you start your running count higher than 0 off the top), would it be beneficial to know other indices outside of the Catch 22?

Also, if other indices do become important in this case, are there any risk-averse indices that are important outside of the Catch 22?

thanks,

Yes, but there would be no reason to learn them if you understand the concept behind Ill 18.

Yes, once again, see BJAttack for info. If you don't have access to same, then just round up on these +?TC plays.

Inside the I-18, know the RA indices for splitting T's, doubling T's vs. T and A, doubling 9 vs. 7.

Outside the I-18, learn the RA for 8 vs. 4, 5, and 6 and the normal indices for A,8 vs. 5 and 6.

Leave everything else alone unless you are playing single deck. In the case of single deck, learn everything you can

Hi blackjackpro2000,

Good to hear from you again. I would love to just memorize the Catch 22 and nothing else. However, I am getting the feeling from some other experts that if positive counts occur more often than in a normal blackjack game, the gain for using other indices outside of the Catch 22 may actually increase and become significant due to the fact that they come up more often than in a normal game. However, perhaps even in this new situation, the Catch 22 STILL account for almost 95% of the playing gain. If this is the case, obviously only Catch 22 would be necessary. Thank you for your help and let's not forget the lessons of Job 1:21.

95%?

Pinky, I'm not sure where you're getting that 95% figure, but it's most definitely in the 75%-85% range. If you really want to add indices to your set for this situation, you should choose those in positive counts, as you will be experiencing higher counts more often than usual, that is, assuming you've adjusted your count properly at start of the shoe, otherwise you will experiencing negatives more often than usual.

question: are we talking about a segment of cards as tracked in a multideck game, or say a stacked deck at a stag party?
