Possible to count cards in high rollers rooms?

In those rooms where you can bet $100k a hand, are they totally paranoid about card counters? Is it possible to count a little bit, subtly, and get away with it or it's just a too big risk for the casino so they really won't let you?

At the 100k level you better have a damn good act to count cards for very long...

I tried that once, but I had to leave when I lost my life's savings on the first hand! :joker:

I dont know where you can bet 100k, but yeah you can count in high stakes room. Expect to get backed off faster at higher betting levels. Your play is monitored much more.

Why would you even post this question? I always walk thru the H/R Rooms in every casino I visit. The highest min I have seen is $500. In general, the min bet would be $100 with nme. The only one I played in was in Canada, Fallsview (new casino...couple years old) and broke in 6D for $1,000. Played approx. 3/4 shoe and was up $900 and left faster than a speeding bullet. I also have noticed that the players were basically no smarter than the green chip players in main pit. I counted and deck went positive and I put a final bet of $800 out, won and was history after that. I also played a $50 min 6D at Seneca Niagara and caught a hot shoe right off start and continued to play for a few hours with a couple thousand win. That's my total experience with the High Roller Rooms...lol

P.S Where did you see a $100k max bet, or is this a joke?

Plenty of places to play 100K a spot.I know they exist but have never been in them.I'd guess they were pretty careful of CC,as at that level they can get hurt pretty quickly.

I was watching special TV program about casinos and they showed a Casino with a special high stakes room and there was an Asian guy with $50k chips who was playing like 3 hands at a time $50k-$100k a hand it was nuts.

Oh and if you google "London's Crockford Casino" you can see that they have a blackjack table with a $375,000 a hand limit, 7 hands at a time! Some billionaire named Kerry Packer once lost $27,000,000 in a single week end at this table (he is dead now, but he was on Forbes richest people list so he didn't cared about a couple of millions).

Some people lost millions and millions in a couple of minutes at these kind of Casinos it's just crazy o_O
But I guess it's all corporation's CEOs that got money to waste or some mafia kings who got some illegal money.

At least you can get a free night at the hotel if you loose all your life savings on a single hand :p

Not 100K a crack but I count in high limit rooms

You just play a little bit differently in some but not all high limit rooms.
Out in the regular pit as a general rule you are not under suspicion as soon as you sit down. As time passes and situations change you may make some bets or plays that might put you in for evaluation.
On a high limit table I just play like I am being evaluated from hand 1.

There is no casino in the whole world that will let you play 100K a hand. They don't exist. Not even in the movies.

Of course they do, just by searching on google you can find a couple of them in Vegas and Macao.

But they probably shuffle after every hands, etc. to make sure nobody is trying to count cards, I guess at that level they can't take any risk.

Actually just about any of the larger property casinos will allow you to play higher than table max if you request it. And a lot of them will put no cap on the max if you reserve the table for private play. However I've never seen an advantage player play at stakes of 100k a hand, I think the scrutiny would be overwhelming. But I have seen a counter play $10,000 hands though and do quite well with no heat at all. It can be done, but you better be good.

Kerry Packer was featured in the book Whale Hunt in the Desert. While he wasn't an advantage player, he really enjoyed using his money as a club to beat casinos with. He'd lose gigantic amounts of money sometimes, but about half the time, he'd really soak whatever casino he was playing at with a huge win. Fun guy.
