Problem with chat

tried to log into chat tonite and it told me I needed to download java. never had a problem before. Has something changed?

Not to my knowledge, although the chat is occasionally automatically updated to a new version. It sounds like Java is not enabled for you, whatever the cause.

Dont ask me why, but on occasion you must UN-install java then RE-install it. And or possibly try rebooting instead.

My java version was 5.something and I updated it to the latest 6.something and it works again. Must have been an update to chat requiring the updated java. Now I have java set to update automatically.
