Short answer to your question is that there's little to be gained by using traditional card counting techniques to gain an advantage when playing against these.

But WOW . . . . . :laugh:

Some firm in China has produced what looks like a copy of the one-2-six, and it seems as though they're up for general sale.

Let's see how Shufflemaster Inc gets on in bringing a claim for copyright infringement against the manufacturer within the jurisdiction of the PRC. Bearing in mind the Chinese are probably the most prolific producers of counterfeit merchandise on the planet, I would think they'll have more chance of flying to the moon on magic carpet than seeing any damages, or having a Chinese court ordering the firm to stop producing them.

I won't be too long then before one falls into the hands of an AP and we all can find out exactly how they work?

And if the purchasing cost is so much lower than the leasing cost of a 1-2-6, Shufflemaster's stock is on the way south.

Interesting, I wonder how much one would be. The problem is, they probably took a lot of engineering shortcuts, making it operationally very different than a one-2-six.

You'll notice they call it an automatic shuffler, not a continous shuffler.
To get back to the original poster, you can play and count a game that is dealt from an automatic shuffler. The ASM machine games are dealt out
and then shuffled. The CSM machines have the cards immediately returned so each hand is played from a fresh shoe.
ASM= okay
CSM= very bad.

Avoid it. Or play for comps.
But are you playing against an Automatic Shuffle Machine or a continuos Shuffle Machine? There is a huge difference. I play almost exclusivley against Auto shufflers.

It's conceivable to learn the pattern of a CSM, assuming there is one. I'd love to take a crack at reverse engineering one, but I'm not willing to spend big $$ to do it.

I'm not an expert in the finer points of patent law, but in the UK there would have to be a significant difference to anything that had already been registered for a separate patent to be granted.

Bearing in mind the HE on some of these games, I can't personally see too many casinos shelving out for some of the electronic robot games.
